Over the last couple of months, people have often asked me what was my motivation to become an end of life doula.

My answer is that just like babies need help to come to this physical world, the dying could also benefit from a helping hand to assist them when they transition and leave this physical world.

We live in a world in which talking about death and dying has nearly become taboo. It feels uncomfortable. But dying needs to be talked about and the needs of the dying need to be talked about. They matter!

End of Life Doulas, or EOLDs also called Death Doulas or Death Midwives, enrich the dying experience for patients, family members and friends, while strengthening the relationship between medical (the doctors, nurses, social workers) and non-medical support (the family or caretakers).

My Mission is to provide grounded presence, consistent companionship, education, coaching, and advocacy to individuals and families wanting support on their sacred walk to end of life.

The philosophy end-of-life doulas embrace is that everyone is sacred. My goal is to have that sacredness accompany the dying in their death, just as it did in life.

I will soon be offering end of life doula services in Ireland (Dublin and surroundings) 🇮🇪, France (Burgundy region)🇫🇷, and Switzerland (Geneva area)🇨🇭. Keep your eyes peeled and stay tuned.

Take care all and feel free to share this post.

With much love as always,
Nadija X
