What Is A Grief Educator?

Hello beautiful people and souls, 

 

As well as being a therapist, coach, energy and spiritual worker, I am also a fully certified Grief Educator. 

 

What is a Grief Educator, you might ask? See the definition below: 

 

"A Certified Grief Educator is committed to providing the highest level of grief support through education, experience, and insights into the often-unacknowledged rocky terrain of grief. Certified Grief Educators completed a certificate program designed by world-renowned grief expert, David Kessler." 

 

A grief educator UNDERSTANDS... 

 

Grief can be traumatic and transformative. People in grief are not broken, 

and we don’t need to fix them. We offer people in grief our utmost respect 

and serve them based on their needs and their unique experience and 

expression. 

 

We offer an individualized approach to grief. We know there is no timeline 

in grief and we know there is not a cure. But we also realize that as grief 

educators, we can reflect and guide people towards creating a life that 

honors their loved ones. 

 

True expertise in grief lies with the griever. It is our role as educators to 

understand the whole individual and their strengths and individual levels of 

wellness. 

 

We are committed to providing a safe space for those in grief. 

Grief educators offer a holistic approach to grieving. 

 

We understand that the responsibility for change lies with the griever. We 

can inform, reflect, and support others. But their journey is ultimately their 

own.
